Designed for the SFA Mobile Food Lab classroom. In addition to classroom activities, this food truck will travel across Texas to promote the SFA hospitality department.
Stephen F. Austin State University is located in Nacogdoches, Texas. In 2019, the university acquired a new classroom for the Hospitality Administration and Food program. The new classroom happened to be a food truck and it needed a new SFA forward look. The program not only planned to have classes in the truck, but also wanted to give students the space to run the truck as a business. Students would be given the opportunity to cook and serve on and off campus, so the food truck needed to be recognizable and 100% SFA. We utilized the most significant elements to the university, it’s Lumberjack mascot, the tall pine trees surrounding the campus, the “Axe 'em, Jacks” hand sign, and the bright signature purple color palette. We made one alteration to the Lumberjack though, instead of holding an axe, he’s holding a knife and fork. The food truck is still run by students in the Hospitality Administration and Food program, and remains an important part of the curriculum.
